Natasya Katsikaris learned Greek and Turkish folkdances as a child. After training with the internationally acclaimed U.C.S.B. Middle Eastern Music Ensemble she became a full-time professional dancer. With her husband, musician Daniel Eshoo, she co-founded Byzantium, Near Eastern Music & Dance.
Natasya offers students a profound knowledge of authentic folk dances and folkloric music which provides meaningful roots for a modern fusion style that explores dynamic new modes of expression while retaining the stylistic depth of tradition.
