ShadiaShadia (Linda Starcovic) has been teaching Egyptian & Tribal Belly Dance in the Henderson area for 9 years. She originally studied in California in the 1970's under two different instructors, Feiruz and Janeanie and became a professional dancer. She, at that time, was also married to an Egyptian drummer. She developed her drumming skills from her husband and Saadoun, a famous drummer in the Los Angeles area. She has since taught belly dance all over the country to include Houston and Cleveland. She currently teaches at all the Henderson Recreation Centers and has all levels of instruction. She is also certified in Zumba and teaches it all over Henderson.
Her troupe is Desert Stars and she also has a Jr. Desert Stars troupe comprised of children from ages 7-14. Both troupes do a variety of styles to include traditional Egyptian, Tribal and add occasionally hip hop, Indian, African, Caribbean and Tahitian. |
