Danya--Fire Goddess
Danya has been dancing since she was very young. She's tried many different forms of dance throughout the years; from ballet, to ballroom, to college cheerleading, but it was what we call bellydancing that has really held her interest. Though now primarily a bellydancer, she brings these many art forms together when she performs, and beyond the traditional dance she is also a recognized and sought after poi performer. Her fluid transitions between these two styles of dance has earned her the admiration of crowds and peers nationwide. Whether using the safer "flag poi" or the mind-blowing "fire dance" she is sure to astound even those who feel they've seen it all!
She avidly workshops with other artists to grow in new directions, and strives to amaze with new moves every time you see her. Among the many that she has workshopped with, she especially acknowledges Rachel Brice, Ariellah, Samantha Riggs, and Heather Stants for encouraging, inspiring, and helping her to grow as a dancer. She is also proud to be a dancer in the ATS troupe, Kumuda Tribal.
In addition to bellydance, Danya also performs with fire and directs her own troupe, Seraphina Fire. She has performed with Cirque du Soleil, performed fire at the IBDC, has been found dancing in many various festivals and Renaissance faires on the west coast, and keeps a busy schedule choreographing new routines and dancing at private parties.
In addition to her hypnotic movement, Danya is known for her distinctive style of costuming. This is because she is also a well-known designer specializing in chainmaille. Her metal designs, as well as her hand-made costumes, enhance and adorn her every performance. She shares her love of dance with her 3 beautiful children whom she hopes will someday perform with her, and achieve far greater things.
We are also thrilled to have her onboard as a 2008 Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive director. She is a fabulous web-goddess and graphic artist to boot!!!

--Shira; Iowa City, Iowa "Always, always rehearse in a new costume before you perform in it! It's best to discover potential costume malfunctions in private so you can fix them before stepping onto the public stage!"
--Amaya; Albuquerque, New Mexico "Learned from my days in the circus: Ever had your hair stick to your lip gloss or have your wet lipstick smear on your teeth or your veil??? Instead of using a lip gloss to create the wet look, simply place a small area of fine silver body glitter in the middle of your lower lip (over your matte lipstick ...
