Khadija Jabiry
Her ambition is to give a taste of the oriental culture and art to the North-American people through the practice of original oriental folklore. Therefore, besides Eastern belly dance, her repertoire includes Moroccan, Tunisian, Kabyl ( In 1999, she founded her own group, Baladi et danses de l’Orient: Tywalline. Since its creation, the group has regularly performed in festivals, gala shows and other exhibitions, in Montreal (Canada), Plattsburg, (USA) and, in June 2004, at the 5th Oriental Dance Festival of Cairo (Egypt). Since her chilhood, Khadija found herself grewing up inside popular folkloric moroccan dance and music. She is liable to perform and teach any moroccan dance style AHOUASH (Berber), AHAIDOUS (Berber), MERSAOUI (Settat region), HASBAOUI (Safi region), HRIZI (Berrechid region), ANDALUS (Fez region), CHAMALI (Tangier region) Besides her practice as a dance teacher, Khadija has organized master classes and workshops, in which she has given dance lovers the opportunity to discover how BELLY DANCE IS MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER DANCE! |
